Jama Software has released Jama Connect 9.39, introducing new capabilities that allow Jama Connect MCP to be configured as a custom plugin for large language models such as ChatGPT.
The integration enables engineering teams to connect AI tools directly with governed product development data while maintaining authentication, permissions, traceability, and organizational controls. Jama Connect MCP supports both Jama-provided OAuth and customer-managed OAuth through an organization’s identity provider.
The new release also introduces improvements to approval reviews and project management, including faster API performance, with the GET /projects endpoint optimized to run up to six times faster under certain conditions.
